My RW-161032 drive is works fine for reading CDROMs but no
longer can write because it cannot format a disk. When I
right click the drive ("E") there is no format option. I
have logged on as Administrator and launched the Disk
Management program, but have found nothing to solve the
problem. I have the same problem with rewritable disks or
single-write disks. Advice will be appreciated.

The ability to format CD-RWs will be a feature of your burner
software. As you don't say what application you're using and I don't
recall which, if any, give you a format option within Explorer I can't
offer any specific advice but it might be worth checking you can still
format re-writtable media from the application itself and/or
re-installing the application.

Either way it's not a Windows 2000 issue per se, so you'll probably
get a more helpful response in a CD-R specific newsgroup or from the
vendor of your CD authoring software.

.
Paul,
You are so right. Thank you and thre cheers for the UK.
I was under the impression that the CD authoring software
was optional, especially since Windows 2000 has formatting
instructions. I reinstalled Roxio and am in business.
