Can anyone give me an overview of known problems or
conflicts with the "Sonic" software that Dell is putting
in it's new systems? Are discs formatted with Sonic able
to be read/written on in other computers containing
Roxio software - and vice versa? FYI - I am NOT
currently running both Sonic and Roxio in my Dell, just
the Sonic that came with the system. I have many, many
discs previously made and used with Roxio. Cant' read
them. Thank you.

Roxio CD Creator is as close to a "universal" program as you can get. It is
kind of like Microsoft Office. If you want compatibility across machines, I
would suggest you use it!

Oddly, I just bought a Dell and it comes with the Sonic Software.

Yet, on my old Win95 computer, I have a version of Roxio.

I have been able to read CDs from the Roxio computer on the Dell and
vice versa, no problem.
