CD BURNER AND DVD GO TO UNKNOWN IN DEVICE MANAGER

I am in need of some serious help. I have tried everything I know. My CD Burner and DVD worked at one time, but sometime last week they suddenly started appearing in the UNKNOWN column in Device Manager. I have tried uninstalling, plus moving hardrives and roms around, but nothing works. Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Try System restore to a date when they worked.
