Michele

I am running W2000 Professional. I was attempting to burn
a cd on my IBM Thinkpad T30. I was transferring pictures
from a Compact Flach Card to a CD, using Windows Explorer
Copy capability. The pictures transfrerred to the CD and I
was able to open them on the CD. I erased the pictures
from my Compact Flash card, and extracted the CD. I then
attempted to transfer pictures from another CF card and
got a message something similar to the IBM DLA had not
finished writing to the CD. I now cannot open the original
CD. When I go into Windows Explorer and attempt to open
the CD I get the hour glass symbol and nothing happens
even after several minutes. Also when I attempt to close
my PC I get a message that tfswctrl.exe is not responding.
When I go into Task Manager to end the program it says it
can't end it, and if I am debugging to resume before I
close the file. Then I need to power down the PC to shut
if off and reboot.

how can i fix this problem?

You copuld try using the "emergency eject hole" on your CD-
ROM (have a look at the CD rom and see if there is a 1 or
2mm wide hole there. If so, get a paperclip and straighten
it out. Push and end into the hole and keep pressing, and
your CD tray will pop open a little, then open the CD
tray, remove the CD and start up the PC and see what
happens. Thanks. Jonny
