cd and dvd rom drives won't work at all.

need help to track down this problem. have looked at the
my computer contence and can't find my cd or dvd rom
drives listed need some help to get them back and running
one drive is the cd dvd drive and the other is the cd
burner drive these drives are not listed in my computer
window. please help.
