I will have the drives one mim. and the next thay are gone, no where to be
found. this plug and play leaves a lot to be desired. I would think that MS
could at least get this right be for they launch a new system. This is the
another attempt to resolve this problem. Can any one help?

Could you be more specific, perhaps? "I will have the drives one mim.
and the next thay are gone..." doesn't do a really good job of
explaining your problem. And exactly what is the "new system" you are
referring to?

This problem you are having with "plug and play" is likely due to the
cable not making good contact with the motherboard. Try plugging it in
better so you may not have this problem.

I did that. I unpluged and repuuged both drives, and made shure that the
order was right. This a log of events for the third Oct.
Thanks for the help Jerry

Errors seem to indicate a hardware problem with the IDE controller
itself. If it's gone flaky the drives will "go away". You could move
them to an PCI add-in card, they don't cost much. OR if the motherboard
is under warrenty, get a free replacement.
