Tiberian Sun and it's add onFirestorm worked great on Windows XP, until I recently had a problem connecting to it, from another computer on my lan. Still not working I tried reloading it, now I get a game.exe error when first executing it. "Faulting application game.icd, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x002854e7.
I do not have any viruses, via Nortons and another Web virus checker suggested in other documents listed here.
I am almost ready to reload Windows XP.
I get an message after a checkdisk, "not completed"; I did another scandisk in safemode, and then scandisk in normal mode which did complete ok, then I de-installed the TS program, and re-installed TS and still the same error and chkdsk won't complete. I also did a disk defrag and still have the same problem. I also have the same directx, or so at least DXDiag tells me and other programs requiring directx 7 work. I don't know why it worked before and not now....any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.

Firstly try

CHKDSK /R

This may take a few hours to run, so schedule it when U don't need to use the beast. That
will get all errors.

Do U have FAT32 or NTFS? If U do re-install, consider changing to NTFS as much more stable
for errors on a hard re-set.

Completely uninstall the game and then use a Registry "fixer" to remove all entries after
you re-boot. System Mechanic is a free download and will run for 30 days and put it to work
fixing and removing all redundant entries.

Then re-install the game, making sure Norton's and anything else disabled when installing
the game.

U shud be at a Minimum of DX 8.1 (I think that is what comes native with WinXP. If at some
stage you have installed an older Direct X from an old game install, then that is a big
problem.

If U have done this, grab one of the free DX remover tools and remove DX and then install
the latest 9.0b.
