categories error

Outlook 2007 - updated to SP2 - no fix yet

When creating a category, the category says category colored by old "Must
Attend" label instead of showing the category color.
 
If you right click on the root of the mailbox/personal folders, select
properties and then "upgrade to color categories" - does it work then?

Good idea, but I've already tried that. It's interesting, because it's a new
installation of Outlook 2007.
 
Milly, thank you so much for your input. Sorry for the delay in replying, I
am having problems with the discussion group interface. Some days it won't
always let me check to see replies.

I tried your solution again, just in case, but it still won't color the
categories - the message still comes up, and then defaults to baby blue.
This is on my son's computer. It was a new installation of Outlook 2007 on a
computer that had never had Outlook before. I've never had this happen to
me, or any installation I've ever seen. Any other ideas?

Do yourself a BIG favour and ditch the horrible web interface. Use a news
reader instead.
