I'm using an original All-in-Wonder Radeon, with MMC 7.7.0.1. I'm running
into the "can only do one still capture" problem, for which I was able to
workaround by changing Direct3D quality to Balanced - a workaround that I
don't care for.
I've found conflicting suggestions on fixing this. One is to go all the
way back to the Catalyst 2.3 bundle, but that's my second choice. First is
to upgrade to the latest Catalyst (or possibly just to 8.5) and therein
lies my question:
The ATI web site seems to say that if I want any MMC version >=8, I need to
first buy their MMC 8.0 CD (not a huge deal at $10). That's on the MMC
download path. But if I go to the Catalyst path, there's no mention of
needing to buy anything to install the latest Catalyst bundle.
So which is it? Can I install the latest Catalyst without spending a dime?
Or do I need to spring for the CD? Or am I simply better off going back to
the 2.3 bundle? (For what it's worth, installing DirectX 9 is my next step
before I do anything else.)
Thanks,
Gary
