Catalyst 4.1 & Overdrive

There needs to be a service "ATI hotkey Poller" running. check your task
manager under services and see if its there. Maybe its disabled for some
reason. my 9600XT shows the overdrive with 4.1 and earlier versions.

I simply don't get it! I tried installing the control panel separately, but
to no avail.

Few days prior to the release of 4.1 Catalyst I got an official support mail
from ATI that the Catalyst drivers (with the then current version 3.10) only
support Radeons 9800 XT.

On the other hand the info doc of 4.1 Catalyst states that overdrive is now
enabled for 9600 XT as well. I guess that should also apply to Sapphire
Radeons 9600 XT which I happened to have. Something's not right here...

Sorry if this is a double post but my ISP is having problems. Look for a
service called "ATI hotkey Poller" It may be disabled. Set it to auto and
you should get the over drive, as I have it with my 9600XT

According to the Sapphire forums, the Sapphire XT card's don't have the
thermal sensor to do Overdrive, so don't support it.

I still don't get the overdrive tab with this version on my 9600xt!?

Me to!!I have Saphire Ati Radeon 9600 XT 256 MB DDR,and with new catalyst
4.10 don't have vpu recover or overdrive option in control panel. If Saphire
card don't have thermal sensor why the hell didn't call this card 9600 pro
instead XT cuz i don't see logic or diference between pro and XT,except
higher GPU clock ????I want money back !!!!

I do have VPU Recover tab but practically it is no use so far ...

strange, as my bro's 9600xt had the overdrive tab and powerstrip showed the
card as overclocked. its a sapphire card bought from tekheads.co.uk

As for wanting your money back, everyone know the XT's are only higher
clocked Pro versions. and with the speed they're clocked at, I personally
think they are worth the extra $10 - 20 they ask (9600: 350mhz.<?> 9600XT
500mhz) Even then, not all 3rd party XT cards support Overdrive. I know
Asus doesn't (not even their 9800XT's) and Sapphire may or may not depending
on the release. Maybe some of their earlier XT releases did and now they
don't. Always be sure to check the manufaturers <sp?> websites for full
product specs.

On that note, Sapphire's site leaves something to be desired though, they
have the cards listed, but don't go into great detail about what the card
does/does not have or support. Even still, do a Google search on product
specs and reviews.
