It is out and 25,97 MB are to go...

I'm staying away from these as one of the 'known issues' is a severe drop in
performance for wolfenstein enemy territory - not that I play that
particular game but whatever is wrong to cause something like that in a
mainstream title using a very popular game engine seems likely to affect
more than one game!

Also, My ATI TV stopped working after installing 4.1. I reverted to 3.10
and the TV is back to normal.

If Omega has already made them, you don't have to wait!

While he doesn't actually make them; what
he does do to them is well worth waiting for.

Luck;

Asked before I'm sure ... but what advantages (in a nut shell) are there in
using the Omega drivers over the standard drivers e.g. better
stability/compatability, image quality etc?

Just curious as the ATI 4.1 drivers seem to be just fine for my comp (though
I did have problems with the Cat 3.8's).

Cheers

Is the Catalyst 4.1 drivers competing with the 3.10's or am I
confused. Just got my 9800 Pro 128. Which drivers are compatible.

Both...

ATI have an interesting numbering scheme for drivers

3.10 means year 3 (as in 2003) 10th version that year.

So now we're in 2004, the first drivers they come out with are called
4.1 there's nothing more than that too it...

I'm currently running a Hercules AIW 9800SE with 3.10 catalyst drivers
and the pipeline unlock from ocfaq.com which has brought it up to
9800pro benchmarks.

Why am I using 3.10 and not 4.1... Well I could, but the best advice
with ATI drivers is... "If it ain't broke... Don't try to fix it!"

Thanks a lot. This had me puzzled.

I never had any trouble with the Catalyst drivers until the 4.1
drivers.
When I install de 4.1 drivers my monitor occasionally goes in to
save-mode. Monitor screens blanks and I have to reset my pc because
pressing a key does not wake my monitor.
