Cat 5.9 problems, please help

Hi!

Got a 9600XT card and just upgraded from Cat 5.4 to 5.9 in order to
(hopefully) solve a problem in a game. After reboot now though my system
seems screwed, everything is painfully slow.. all updates, menyues etc
updates at a snails pace..
Anyone recognice this problem and know how to solve it?
Where can I get Cat 5.7/8 if I need to downgrade?
Anyone have a clue to what is happening??

Also just found out that the video overlay doesn't work any longer, can't
get my video out to fullscreen on the telly any more :(
 
You know, on a few occasions I have had that happen. I easily solved the
problem by using the Catalyst removal tool to remove all ATI software and
drivers from my machine, and then did a clean install of the driver in
question. Give it a shot.

Did you uninstall the 5.4s before you a)rebooted and be)installed the 5.9s?
