cassette to harddrive

I found some old cassettes that my pals and I recorded back in the late
seventies and early 80's of picking and grinning and drinking beer and
whiskey. Most of them are dead now --I am pretty much the last one left. I
would like to load them to the computer and burn them on a cd. Some need a
little work but some are in excellent shape. Any freeware to transfer to
harddrive and any freeware to clean up and make them sound better?

To transfer them to hdd you need to plug the plaer to line in an record it
with ExactAudioCopy, dbPoweramp music converter or some other recorder (I
recommend the last one), andyou can process the Wavs with ExactAudioCopy or
Audacity
