Cassette to CD

I have some audio cassettes which I would
like to put on CD. Guess I have to " rip" to MP3
after which, I can burn to CD OK.
Any advice appreciated.

No, record to PCM wave, 44,100Hz 16 bit stereo. Then you can edit as
needed...remove background noise, extraneous material, split to tracks,
etc.

After editing you can burn the wave directly to an audio CD or you can
encode it to MP3 for burning to a data CD.
