If power supply is included it must be 500w and compatible with
Intel®Core™2 Duo Intel® D975XBX (support Intel's fan feadback
system for noise reduction).

I am put off by easily broken plastic front panels. Who makes cases
with a METAL front panel that include access to commonly desirable
services: USB, Firewire, Flash Drives, etc.

My objective is durability, not fancy mods. This is intended for for
use by family as part of a DVR replacement.

I've never broken a single one. You should stop kicking your case.

Hardly anyone at all. Mad to be limiting yourself so drastically.

Make them take off their shoes, that should help
with the damage they cause when kicking the case.

Might need a bit of Dremel work, depending on whether you've
got a lot of high power stuff in the case. I think the front is
metal, but it is hard to tell from just the one picture.

The reference on the Servercase page, to SPI, could be referring
to a Sparkle brand power supply. This is an example of an
SPI supply.

The feet in the downloadable PDF spec sheet look like they
have lethally sharp corners.

How many fans did you use?

Aluminum is not known for good sound damping qualities.
Can you hear its innards from 3 feet away?

Are the side and top fan vents closed off if not used?

No sharp corners
How many fans did you use?

It has one at the front, in front of the hard drive slots

one in the psu, one on the CPU

not put one in the back, doesn't get warm enough to need one.

Not noisy at all, hardly hear it.

But aluminium is good for thermal conductivity which is more important
in my book.

But its quiet.

No vent in top but the side one has a tube to funnel air to the CPU.

too-less too

it's a nice case
