cascading windows for IE and shortcuts by start button

I apologize for these probably simple questions, but I can't find the answer
because I'm sure I'm not using the correct terms. My hard drive crashed and
I've reinstalled the programs and now I'm unable to reset to the prior terms
(the old hard drive is absolutely dead so I can't transfer the settings).

I like to open many IE windows. Unfortunately, they all nest or cascade
into one box below (it shows as "10 Internet Explorer"), rather than have a
line of open windows shown at the bottom of the screen (which I prefer). How
can I get it to do the latter?

Also, my old settings had various shortcuts immediately to the right of the
start button, with little symbols for Outlook, IE, Word and Show Desktop.
These are different from the shortcut icons, which requires me to clear the
entire desktop. How can I re-create those little symbols.

Thank you.

Hi,
Right-click an empty area of the taskbar & choose Properties. Uncheck "Group
similar taskbar buttons."

The other item is the Quicklaunch bar. Right-click the taskbar> Properties>
check "Show Quick Launch."

Thank you for the grouping of the IE. Very helpful and always easy when you
know what you're doing. I searched for about two hours for the answer before
reaching this board!
