The Start ->settings-> control panel cascades, i.e., the many CP control
sections, unfurl. Is there a way to make My Computer display its contents,
so that for example I cann get easily to the floppy drive? The help files
don't recognize my search terms, so 'cascade' is not the word. Suggestions
would be appreciated.

In control panel, on left side, click Classic View.

Right click Start Menu > Properties > Customize button > Scroll down and uncheck "Use
Personalized Menus"

I've been using classic view for some time; have unchecked personaized menus
as you suggested, still no unfurling of my 'puter contents. Other advice wld
be appreciated.

If I understand the OP question correctly, they want to be able to
click on the Start button and hover over the My Computer selection and
have it expand to show all the drives.

I don't know of any way to do this using the Classic Start Menu.

You can do it using the XP Start Menu (not classic) ...

Right-click Start Menu > Properties. Select the Start Menu tab then
click the Customize button. Select the Advanced tab. In the Start Menu
Items list, select My Computer - Display as a menu. Click OK.

Hi,
This just worked for me...
Right-click My Computer. Drag it down to the Start Button, wait for the
Start Menu to expand then drag My Computer to the empty space at the top of
the Start Menu , release it and choose "Create shortcut."

Hope this helps,

Hi Rob,

This is easy to do - right-click the start button, and select "properties",
"customize", then click the "Advanced" tab.

Under "Start Menu Items", scroll down to "My Computer", and click "Display
as a menu". OK your way back out.

The help files don't recognize my search terms, so 'cascade' is not the
word. Suggestions would be appreciated.
