Can you suggest an other than HP source for cartridges for
an HP Color Laserjet 2500...?

I have Googled a ton, but so far, no luck.

Might you know of a company other than HP that makes these
things?

No, I do not. I think the 2500 has a chip that has to be reset, which
may make remanufactured cartridges less common. However, I googled and
came up with this page --

There seem to be a number of places selling remanufactured cartridges
for the 2500.
