Carryover animations

I am trying to animate a graphic on one slide by having it fade out when
clicked on and then have that element remain faded on the following slides.
I have 10 slides. the top of each slide contains various items that are
repeated on each slide. The bottom half of each slide is unique to the
slide. I am wanting to animate the elements on the top so that if I click on
them during a slide show, they remain in their animated state on the
following slides. Any ideas? Thanks!
 
Only way I can think to do this is to use just one slide for your
presentation and pile up all the unique stuff on top of each other. You'd
have to set an exit animation for all the stuff on a slide so it disappears,
making it seem as if you're transitioning to a new slide.
