Carry a data filled hard drive on flight

Now that airport security is tight, what should I know to
bring notebook, digital camera, or digital Camcorder when
taking flights? Could passing them through the scanning
device corrupt data on their respective storage device -
hard drive, flash memory and MiniDV? Are these devices
allowed not to be scanned? What's your experience?

The imaging devices used have no effect on computers (hard drives) or flash
memory disks.

i took laptop , Compact flash cards and separate hard drives through the
airport scanners,
all with no problems at all......
they all have to be scanned...
no need to worry , they are built to support today's technology..
