Its a puzzler that's for sure.
As you are using S-Video are you plugging that directly into your Graphics Card
(something I used to do) or are you using a device that converts to
digital....what I'm getting at is, is the device something that is an integral
part of your computer or is it outside the computer.
If internal have you taken a look at the Device Manager (Right click My
Computer > Manage > Device Manager) you will be looking for your device
primarily, there may be a coloured Icon next to its name...clicking on its
properties will probably give us the info we need to solve your issue
If its an external device I am not going to be able to help very much except to
comment on how is it connected to the computer, to what kind of port and is
that port still active and without errors...look at the device manager again
