My DVD camera is connected via IEEE and is read by Windows device manager.
However, I can not preview any video or record video using Windows Movie
Player or Video Studio. The controls on computer work with the camera, but
I still get no preview and record.

Can anyone assist me?

Not without more info please.
Which cam? PAL or NTSC? what pc cpsecs? what software and OS installed? SP2
installed? HAve you got it turned on in the vcr/playback position? Has it
ever worked?
Try reading thse pages and trying all the suggestions and along with the
answers to the above let us know how the tests went.

Specs:

NTSC, 64bit 3 gig AMD processor, Windows media player 2.1 and Video studio
5.0. It worked on my old 600MGZ, I got a new 64bit computer and the video
does not preview or record. I have a Canon MC25 hooked up to IEEE port. It
is listed on device manager and also in Video Studio as DV camera.

This may be as simple as the problem I was having... I got everything set up
but assumed that Movie Maker would draw the video from my camera. Well, it
doesn't do it automatically: you have to actually play the video on your
camera (in vcr/playback mode) after you click the "start capture" button. And
you have to turn on the "USB Streaming" on your video camera. (I found the
USB Streaming option in my camera's menu."

Let me know if that helps. -Jude
