Capturing video then burning to a CD

I need to burn the video on a CD so that my students can use the video to
create their WMM. I captured the video and then burned it on a CD. But when
the students went to import the video from the CD. It said that the files
were not supported. The computers they were using all have WMM on them. Help!

What format is the video saved in?
Maybe it needs to be converted to
a compatible format.
