Im using a Sony DCR-TRV460 (Digital 8 Camcorder) connected to the computer via USB Streaming. Now when I try to capture the raw video on the device, the software freezes up or goes incredibly slow to a point where i have to disconnect the USB cable and call it quits. Is there a reason for this and if so what can I do to make the USB streaming work with the capturing software?

I also have a Sony DCR-TRV460. USB Streaming is too slow. I've been using
the Firewire (i-Link) port. You will have to buy a 6 to 4 pin IEEE 1394
cable. Hopefully your computer has a Firewire port.

I have a similar camcorder as you, and cannot capture any video. I have the 4-6 firewire, and the software controls the functions on the camera, but i cannot get the video to load. It freezes at about 3KB. Can you help?

I have been capturing from my Sony to my computer via FireWire with WinDV
which is a small free program. You might want to try it. Their web site is
