I used the cable from my palmcorder to my sony vaio media computer and start
the camera and try to capture it and it says no devise found. Do I have to
download a driver or something to make it work. It is a brand new computer as
am I at doing this.

What Palmcorder? Did it have dedicated supplied software? Did you install
it?
What type of cable?

PC's/windows/Mac's do not "talk" direct with attached devices unless it is
a firewire connection.
For USB you have to install the devices software.

Ooops, it is of course in the heading - Panasonic
You fail to detail how you are connecting, but it's
a safe assumption not by firewire.
It will be detailed in your Panny user instructions.
You require a 4pin - to - 6pin firewire interconnect.
