capturing problem

When I tried capturing a movie from a digital camera, it
stops short before the clip is finished. The display
screen freezes but it tells me that it is still
recording. After exporting and viewing, the click has not
recorded everything.

Any ideas?
 
I have a similar problem and tried various suggestions unsuccessfully. PAPAJOHN'S site had advice that has helped many people, but not me. ... yet
One error message using Roxio refers to a memory information problem. Using Movie Maker I get no error message.
I can view, but I can capture for from 4 to 10 seconds, and then the program locks up.

Something similar happens to me
I capture 4 to 10 seconds and then the program (Roxio and Movie Maker) freezes, though sometimes I may still view the running tape that is no longer being captured
Go to papajohn's site and try his suggestions - did not work for me

Hi Has anyone solved the problem of the video capture freezing after 5
seconds or so.I have a Pinnacle 500 card equiped with fire wire interface
using the XPpro IEEE driver. By now I have just about torn my hair out, have
tried everuthing I can think of. This freezing of the video input also
ocurrs when I try other capture software, so it must be in the IEEE1394
input. Help
