Can someone help me? I am not very computer savvy. I have some football film on my son that is on VHS that I need to transfer to DVD. I bought a product by Sima called Copythis, however I can't get it work. It has both yellow V in & outputs and S video in and out. Do I need an S video or can I use either

I have tried hooking up my laptop to Copythis, then copy this to the VCR and trying to capture, but it give me a message "video capture device not detected." Do I even need this copy this product or is there a way to record on my lap top from my VCR? Any help and "capturing for dummies" instructions would really be helpful. What do I need to do to get this working?

Sorry, typo, I am trying to play a VHS tape on my VCR and capture it so that I can save it on my lap top and edit. Outisde of WMM do I need any other software?

I'm not familiar with the product, but looking at the online copy of the
manual, it appears the device is meant to connect two analog devices to copy
from one to another.... not to go to or from a computer in a digital
environment.
