Hello. I have a Sony DCR-TRV18 DV camcorder. Back in September I bought a
1394 Firewire cable to connect my camcorder to my computer. I was able to
connect and capture flawlessly in Pinaccle Studio 9. Flash foward a few
months to now, I once again need to capture some video. I pull my firewire
out of the drawer it's been in for the past few months and load up Pinaccle;
alas, it cannot detect my camera being connected. Thinking this was a problem
with the Pinaccle software, I boot up Windows Movie Maker only to realize
that "A video capture device was not detected." I thought this was very
strange since it worked perfect before. I'm plugging in the cable, putting
the camera in the VCR position; there shouldn't be anything wrong. However,
there is, and I'd love to find out what. I'm running XP SP2, if that's
anything to you.
Thanks.
