Capturing Date/Time Stamp

I am trying to record my mini DV tapes to DVD using an
IEEE port. My camcorder shows the date it was recorded
but I cannot capture onto DVD.

Does anyone know why this is or how I can get it onto my
DVD??

Sally,

On my digital camera, the date and time are recorded on a separate track
along with other codes like the shutter speed and various camera settings.
It is not actually part of the image recorded. When I transfer the video via
firewire (IEEE port) these codes are also transferred and stored as file
properties in the DV-AVI format. I have not tried it yet, but I don't
believe the time/date stamp is saved at all with other file formats (wmv).

If you want the date and time as part of the video image, you have to use
the title/credits features and type in the date and time in the format you
want. When I transfer my mini DV to DVD, I simply give the date and time in
the title on the menu page and do not include it as part of the video
itself.

Hope this helps,

Ken
