Capturing Audio

Not sure if anyone has the same experience. I was trying to capture a footage
from my DV (that was a dub from a VHS tape). Video was capturing fine but the
audio was very choppy, full of clips and hiss. I am using a dual Xeon 2.4G,
1G ram, 120G Sata Drive. My audio is Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. OS is XP SP2.
Appreciate if someone can share knowledge.

Did you capture via firewire? If you play the dv tape through the cam
straight in to the tv do you get great audio or poor?

Yes Graham, I captured via the firewire port on my Audigy 2 ZS card. The DV
tape sounds normal when I played direct to TV. I've also tried two DV Cam
with similar results. Any idea? Is it the sound card or something else?
