Can You Capture and Burn Directly to your blank DVD or CD without having to
go through a program to save and edit because it takes up a lot of space on
the hard drive.,, or is it necessary to go through a movie maker program to
encode???

Hello,

You need a DVD burner that supports that feature and you need software that can
handle it, and finally you need a fast computer.

One of my DVD burners does not do this (Richo) and the others (Sony D22A) do.

Nero 5 Reloaded supports the feature (I am not 100%% on that)

Check some of the DVD authoring tools, some may offer direct or near direct
capture and burn with one tool. I can't say I've tried it though, usually I
want to change something or take the boring stuff out...

Hello again,

I just noticed I said Nero 5 Reloaded...it should read Nero 6 Reloaded....Great
program by the way and not just because it can capture DV and Analog then edit
it with transitions and effects and then add chapters and finally burn the
DVD....S m o k e y !!!
