I am having problems capturing video with WMM. When i get to "Capture Settings", it wont let me go anyfurther. I select Adaptec Capture Card and hit next -- and no DICE! I also can't capture with ARCSOFT ShoBiz. I keep getting errors that are along the lines of Can't recognize device, device already in use and other crazy messages like that! I am however able to capture with SONIC MyDVD. If there is no difference how I capture, then S-O-B, guess I'll have to capture that way! I just wanted to see how WMM and Arcsoft worked out is all

Can someone tell me what the hell is going on!?

Mike,

I have a few notes on the Analog Video Capture > Adaptec page of my site....
seems that you're probably using an MPEG2 capture device, which won't work
with MM2.

Thank You papajohn! What capture card would you
recommend to capture video in WMM? I'm kinda' new at
this but have put out some (what I consider) cool DVD's.
I used a combination of programs to do them. First I
capture with MyDVD, then create starting titles and end
credits with WMM, finally importing them to ShoBiz to
render them into one cohesive flick and end it with My
DVD to burn it to the DVD. I am really interested in
trying to use WMM to its full potential, instead of using
all those other programs to accomplish what I want!!

Hi Mike,

For the longest time, I had read so many negative posts about the Dazzle 80
that I was pretty leery of even trying it. But it was so available in stores
and so many were asking about it.... so I finally broke down and got one
when it was $30 after rebate and came with Pinnacle's Studio 8 software.

The Dazzle 80 with my laptop works great, capturing 640x480 high quality
video from any analog source... with the audio. I didn't run into any of the
problems that I had read about, and as a bonus I use the Studio 8 software
to generate great royalty free background music. I bought it just to
experience the problems that so many reported, but didn't find any.

Sometimes the higher end, more expensive items are more of an issue than the
lower end ones.

Thank you once again, and I have seen that particular one
at Best Buy here where I live. I think I'll give it a
try and see what happens! You have been invaluable in
this quest for knowledge, and I have already added your
web site to my list of favorites. Maybe I'll send you a
segment of one of my DVD's to see how they look and run!

Sincerely, Thank Alot!!
