Capturing a DVR signal

I have an old charger playoff game on the hard drive of my Time Warner
DVR/Digital Cable Box. I moved the unit to my computer desk. Plugged in the
cable, turned it on. I hooked it up to my 8500DV thru the s-video and analog
sound plugs. It doesn't show a picture at all. Could it be scrambled? Or, am
I doing something wrong...Thanks in advance.

Try using the other output. The unit has dedicated VCR output jacks, which
apparently, Time Warner has disabled. You need to use the main A/V out
jacks. I copy recorded shows to my DVD recorder all the time.

Do you get any sound? If not, then the A/V out jacks are the problem.

Thanks for the reply with my DVR problem. It seems to record OK on to a VCR
ok. And, I'm using the s-vid out and analog out on the TWarner DVR box. I
did get sound into the computer but no video.
Could it be my adapter into the 8500 DV Card?
Thanks,
J.
