capture video to mem stick

Can you capture video to a memory stick instead of to the computer's hard
drive? This seems to make sense if you don't want to jam up hd with video...
Pls reply.
 
You can, but at 13gb per hour for dv-avi files you'll need an awful lot of
memory sticks.
