Would there be a way in Movie Maker or any other way to Capture the screen or
make a screen shot. I dont want just a picture. Is there a way I can capture
the screen in a movie form

Hello,

Yes you can. Download the free program Windows Media Encoder. Using that
you can capture a "Window" or a specific area of the screen or the entire
screen.

Hello Ed,

Yes its a good program. I sometimes have problems when using it relating to
the colour palette. Windows has always had problems in that area but until
recently I thought that XP was cured of that particular issue. I suspect
that some of the problems posters suffer with sometimes refer to as crazy
colours or inverse colours are due to the clash of colour palettes. Early
versions of windows were terrible.....if the palette in use in a particular
window did not match the palette needed you got some very odd results

Change of subject,

Been playing with Animation Master on my new x64 setup and it has not
crashed once. The compile process and general speed of the program, not
sure but I think it is slightly quicker...but it is still running in a
32bit environment. Maybe that environment is allowed to enjoy the increased
abilities provided by the enhanced management of RAM given by XP Pro x64

The program runs much faster than when it was on a 3Ghz P4 machine
(compared to the 32bit XP Pro on the 64bit machine) That all sounds a
mess...lets try again

Machine, OS, Speed Benchmark (Symantec)
3Ghz, P4 XP Home x 1 1
AMD 64FX XP Pro x 1.6 x 4
AMD 64FX XP Pro x64 x 1.62 Don't know yet

So, you can see there is a fair improvement in speed. But I think that its
not enough to justify spending the moderately large amount on a ABit
FataIty mobo, AMD 64FX Processor 4GB of 400MHz DDR RAM, SATA drives, 128bit
Graphics (dual core) card etc

This new machine is built into a cupboard with air cooling. It has a
separate processor that deals with the speed of each of the fans and gives
a large amount of control over how the system functions. One of the many
pieces of data it displays are temperature readings for all of the
important components. When reading/sending mail or using Movie Maker or
editing one of my utilities the temperature hovers around 38 to 42c. But,
when compiling simple animations in AM the temperature of the CPU very
quickly climbs to 58 - 60c, and I am sure it would go higher if the
animations were anything other than simple. The system is set to do an
ordered close down if it reaches 80c (the default was 85) Anyway, AM has
not yet faltered when using it in the 64bit version of XP so I guess that's
where it will stay

I have been creating some titles "The Kellys" mutates to "Home Video". Its
not good enough to use yet. Changing the type of material used for the
surface has given some really nice results. I have been using the character
out of The Simpsons to jump across the top of the letters (can't remembers
his name) Its clear that it is more than capable of doing what I want and
its also clear that my thoughts about creating lots of them for inclusion
as downloads on the website is a no no because of the amount of time and
effort needed. Such is life !!
