capture problems

I am having a similar problem stated by others. I am using a Panasonic
PVGS300 camera connected by USB (I've used two different ones). When clicking
on "capture entire video", after the whole tape runs, (with no counter
running) I get "The specified video device is not responding. Verify device
is turned on & try capturing again." I am presently trying it manually and it
seems to be working. The computer is new as well as the camera. I did not try
using another usb port on the computer. Do I understand that using a firewire
would help? It seems like quite a few others have problems with this? Is it a
flaw in the program?

You really should be using the Firewire/IEEE1394 connection rather than the USB.
Does Panasonic list an USB driver for this camera?

As I'm not able to make a new post I just post my question overhere :
With my old computer I could capture video from my portable dvd player.
Now with the brandnew computer it is impossible to capture from the same
portable dvd player. Seems that Movie Maker doesn't find the player at all.
Now i have to change each time from new to old computer = deconnect the new
one and connect the old one.

Is there a way I can unstall the actual movie maker and make a new
installation?

Can anyone tell me how to fix the above mentioned problem?

Thanks
Martine

I see you have the PVGS300, how do you like it? I am thinking of buying
one online, but am not sure which seller to use. I looked at the store
reviews for 42nd St. Camera, and Butterfly Photo, both lowest prices.
Lots of bad revews for both stores, but a lot more good reviews.
Did you buy an extended warranty?
How's the low light performance?

Thanks,

Ken
