Hi.
First time in!
I´m not satisfied with the video quality I get when capture from a capture
board.
I did everything I read about improving performance like degragment HD, turn
off every application not necessary, etc.
I read that I can turn off the preview in the MS MovieMaker wizard but I
could´t find how in my MM version (2.1).
Question is: how to turn off preview?
Tks.

Turning off the preview is an option given within the video capture wizard.
As far as the video quality how are you connecting the camera and what
capture settings are you using?

For the best possible video quality without using custom profiles you need
to connect the camera via firewire and capture as DV-AVI.

Hi WoJo.
I´m capturing from a VHS tape player, via a PixelView capture board.
I´m using PAL-M, as long this the stardard in Brasil, 16bits, 380 pixels or
close to this.
If I have to download a new version or not, I don´t know.
I think mine is the last one since I bought my notebook these days.
If you know how to set the preview off, please, let me know.
Tks for your time.

Transferring from VHS is difficult as far as getting good quality especially
with Movie Maker as it is really more designed for digital capture than
analog. I would recommend 1st trying the software that came with the
Pixelview board and see if you get good results there. Keep in mind that the
result will be an MPEG file which you may have to convert in order to use it
in Movie Maker.

Hi WoJo.
Tks again.
I tried the SW that came along with PixelView Capture Board.
It is worse!
I found a site where they explain how to turn off the preview monitor.
But the picture of the wizard doesn´t looks like mine. I´ll try to update
the MovieMaker to see what happens.
See ya.
