Hi there,

I do not know exactly which section covers this, but if you go take a look
at www.papajohn.org you will probably find the solution....I think the term
"Pass through" may be relevant

Shane,

I also have an HP 873n, and you just can't capture analog video through the
TV tuner using Movie Maker. I suggest downloading Movie Mill, which will
allow you to capture video from your VCR in MPEG-2 format. You can download
it (for free) here: http://mce.astyrrian.com

You may be able to import the captured MPEG-2 video into Movie Maker, or you
may need to convert it to DV-AVI first using a program like TMPGEnc.

Hi Bob and John,

I need some capture help too.
I've an ATI AIW 9000Pro video card, and I want to make captures from an
analog VHS-C camcorder.
With the ATI MMC software installed with my card, I can capture my VHS-C
cassets in a large variety of formats, but the best quality, for a
reasonable space on the HD, is obtained with their .vcr propiatery format,
and with the MPEG2 DVD format (they have several MPEG2 ones: VGA resolution,
HHR resolution, DVD, DVD High, full resolution CCIR-601, DVD Medium, SVCD,
DVD low).
The problem is that these ATI/DVD-MPEG2 files cannot be read neither by
Windows Madia Maker, nor by TMPGEnc. On the other end, I can use them with
the PowerDirector Pro trial version.
Could somebody tell me how to solve this issue, as I would widely prefer to
use WMM, rather than Power Director.

Thanks for the help

Francis
