I RECENTLY PURCHASED A TIME MEDIA CENTRE PLUS WITH XP MEDIA CENTRE EDITION
2004 (NVIDIA GE FORCE FX5200,128MB GRAPHICS WITH TV ENCORDER CARD.)
I THOUGHT TO CONVERT ALL MY OLD VHS TAPES TO DVD,HOWEVER WHEN TRYING TO
ACCESS WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER I JUST GET ONE SCREEN SHOWING "THE VIDEO DIVICE IS
CURRENTLY IN USE CLOSE ANY OTHER APPLICATION THAT IS USING THE DIVICE AND TRY
AGAIN" I CLOSE THIS BOX AND A SECOND BOX STATING "THE VIDEO DEVICE CANNOT BE
USED AT THIS TIME BECAUSE THER HAS BEEN AN ERROR WHEN STARTING THE DEVICE."
THIS MESSAGE IS SHOWN WHETHER I HAVE MY VCR CONNECTED OR NOT.THE MC AT
PRESENT IS ONLY BEING USED AS A COMPUTER I HAVE NOT YET CONNECT ANY OTHER
DEVICE APART FROM MY PRINTER AND THE VCR WHEN TRYING TO CONVERT MY OLD
TAPES.ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED(I AM NEW TO THIS COMPUTER GAME
PLEASE EXPLAIN IN IDIOT TERMS)

Turn OFF your CAPS lock - it means you're SCREAMING.

Retype the message using UPPER and lowercase so it's easier to read.

If you can record a t.v. show using your computer, then you can also record
what your vcr is displaying. You can then import the file into movie maker.
I don't know if Movie Maker will make a DVD compatible disk (compatible with
all DVD players) though. You might need to use DVD authoring software that
came with your DVD recorder.
I have a t.v. tuner card that I put into my computer and have had great
results digitizing my video tapes. I don't bother creating DVD disks, that
has become obsolete technology for me.
