Check camcorder on a friend's PC that you know is working. See if same
results. If no friend with same hook ups, do the following.

I will assume USB since this problem is common re other equipment on USB.
You probably are using a USB controller (where one cable comes from PC into
a 4/8 port split out).
You may not be getting enough volts to the camcorder and back to the PC.
Also run the camcorder on the wall socket power.
Try hooking up directly onto the computer on one of the several home port
USB outlets. You may have to crawl around on the floor on this one so watch
out for the dust bunnies.
If problem goes away, you now know PC-Camcorder interface wasn't getting
enough power. Most of the time this is the solution.
