Hello all
Why does "Msword" capitalize the first letter on a new line and how can I
stop it doing that??

best regards fred

When you take a new line it is usually because it is a new paragraph which is
a new sentence and hence a capital letter. Are you using the return key to
get to the next line when you should be letting Word decide when a new line
is required. Just keep typing and when there is not enough room Word will
take it on to the next line.
Does this solve your problem?

This is a function of Word's AutoCorrect feature. Tools - AutoCorrect
Options - AutoCorrect tab; remove the checks next to Capitalize first
letter...

Per Rae's response... note also that when you press Enter, Word treats
whatever follows as a new paragraph, and hence, as a new sentence. So, if
the AutoCorrect features noted are turned on, then you will see what you are
seeing.
