Hello!
Please help me. I can't watch my cd well because the
microsoft media player doesn't play some of my avseq.dat
files in the mpegav folder. Sometimes a blue screen
appears saying:

"errror reading cd-rom in drive E: please insert the cd-
rom with serial number... in drive e. If the cd-rom is
still in the drive it may require cleaning."

And whenever I try to press esc or enter button, it
doesn't return to the desktop. So I tried taking out the
cd from the cd-rom drive and I pressed again esc button. A
window appeared in the media player saying:

"The device attached to the system is not functioning."

I tried playing different cd's but the outcome is still
the same. I can't watch my cd's anymore. I even tried
using Real One Player but its no use.

Before this had happened, I had my computer fixed by a
computer technician. He changed the hard disk of my cpu
and had it upgraded to a higher memory. He claimed that my
old hard disk contained many bad sectors due to some
programs.

But before letting him fix it, the media player is still
working very well and Im having no problems about it. Then
after having my computer back, these problems started.
Even my internet connection always gets terminated almost
every 1 minute or so. So I'm having a hard time using the
internet and I always have to reconnect many times if I
need to go to the web.

Does these problems have something to do with the new hard
disk and the upgrading? Why am I having this problem? Is
there any solution? I haven't experienced this before I
have the computer fixed. I am worried that the technician
made some errors or he really caused it to bring new
problems.

I need your help. I'll wait for your immediate reply.
Thank you.

Well, for a start, no normal program I know of causes bad sectors on a hard
drive. That sort of thing can happen with wear and tear but it's extremely
unlikely unless the drive itself has a physical fault. The problem with the
CD sounds like either the drive is going bad, or possibly the IDE cable is
not plugged in correctly. It could also be caused by a mismatch in memory.
When upgrading, it's always best to use the same make memory as is already
installed as some makes just don't like working well with each other. The
internet connection issue sounds like a misconfiguration to me...

Your best option is to take is back to this "technician" at once and insist
he fixes the problems HE has caused...

Two things.......
1,I had that problem a long time ago and it was down to a bad IDE cable, when
replaced it worked ok.
2,I have seen that when Windows got messed up.
When Re installed,everything was ok.
