I am set up to download microsoft updates automatically, which occured
yesterday. Since then I can't view my webpages properly - I get an error
message 'you are not authorised to view this page' and many small boxes with
an 'x'. I've allowed pop-ups, and have also disabled the microsoft firewall
(I have my own different firewall and virus checking software). I've also
added the web addres to my list of allowed URL's but still no joy... Any
ideas gratefully recieved,many thanks, Maz

Have you gone in to IE-->tools-->Inet options-->Advance-->Restore defaults?

There always is Opera or Firefox to get you going.

Worse comes to worse, uninstall the updates, check that IE works again, and
reinstall the updates. Something became corrupt.

I am having the same problem with the update. I get "problems with this Web
page might prevent this page from displaying properly or functioning
properly" I did restore defaults to no avail. I am not sure how to revert to
the last windows update.

Goto--> http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Select--> View installation history

Find what was installed on the day everything went nuts.

Goto--> Add remove/programs and back off the updates

Check to see if things are working...and then send MS a note telling them
the details of your problem.

Good luck!

Don't forget about "the other" browser options. Opera rocks!

Thanks Phil. Will try.
