I received an email from a colleague with an MDB attached, I opened it in
Outlook 2000 SR3 and the MDB was not available. There was a header:
"Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments:
xxx.mdb"
My workaround was to import the message into Outlook Express, which I think
is a boneheaded way to solve this.
If Microsoft is going to go to the trouble to "protect" us from horrible
MDBs, then why don't they take the extra step and implement a way that I can
specify which files, IF ANY, I want blocked.
By the way the only reason I downloaded SP3 was to update my system from all
of the security holes that Microsoft exposed.
So my question is this:
is there any way around this? Must I restore my SP1 image to get normal
functionality? I read that there are some 3rd party tools that can help, but
the idea of adding a 3rd party tool to let me view my attachments in an
email application is absurd.
