I was browsing Google Maps a little earlier to try and view a 3D map in more detail, but was surprised to find it didn't seem possible anymore... However, it turns out it's just very hidden away. It's an amazing feature, so I don't know why they've made it so difficult.
If anyone else wants to view 3D Google Maps again, go to the usual website: https://www.google.com/maps/
Then click the "layers" button in the bottom right corner and select "more":
Now tick the "globe view" box
Now you'll get the 3D view again, where you can hold down shift + click to rotate the camera angle.
