Hi all

I have a desktop (HP d530) with a new installed XP and IE6.
I have not made any changes or modifications.

If I go to a Https://-site I get a "page not found"-error.

Out of 10 pc this is the only one with this problem. I have tried to rereg
dll, dail-a-fix, default settings and other things from this newsgroup.

Please help me........

Hi again

I have found a way around this problem.

I changed the IP from 192.168.1.7 to 192.168.1.23 and everything worked.

I don't know why ...... do anyone have an idé ?

There are no updates for my router/Firewall.

I do not know why this is happining.............

Who can help ?????

You could try using Fiddler2 (or Fiddler with RPASpy)
(to trace how far you are getting).

Then it could be a symptom of a misconfigured firewall.

Also, what did Fiddler2 show you?

Our firewall is not set to block anything. There is no indications of a
changed setting.

I can't give a computer the "problem" IP because we have to use all of our
computers every day. This is why I haven't used Fiddler.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

I have already tried this ! The computer works just fine...unless it is using
192.168.1.7. All other computers have the same problem if they get the same
IP.

So, it's a DHCP problem? This isn't the right newsgroup for diagnosing
such protocol-specific issues.

BTW why can't you just leave Fiddler running until your machine gets
assigned the problem configuration? (It would improve your symptom
description.)

Probably a better trace would be netcap (e.g. to capture all the underlying
protocols) but I suspect you would have to figure out how to use its buffer
wrapping feature if the symptom is as infrequent as you are implying.

Good luck

No it is not a DHCP-problem because we are not using DHCP :-)

I'll install Fiddler and get back when I have a result.
