Can't use remote connection while using smart key over Cisco VPN

i am trying to access a remote computer from mine on our corporate network.
I am accessing wirelessly via a VPN connection while using a smart card (USB
token). When I try to connect to the remote desktop, it asks for my usercode
and password instead of the USB token password. The only way to get around
this is to remove the USB token so that I can type in the password.
Unfortunately, while doing this, the VPN connection breaks.

on terminal server do you have instaled the driver for usb token?

Yes, both computers have the drivers installed and work fine by themselves.
