can't use my web mail anymore?

I just set up my windows (vista) mail account with the incoming and outgoing
servers etc. etc. I get all my mail and I can send all my mail, no problem.
However, I just tried going to my servers website to check my mail and I have
nothing. Is there a way to undo the windows mail setup without losing all my
messages? I realize this sounds incredibly stupid, but I'd like it to be the
way it was before.

If you want to access your email both ways, you can set Windows Mail to
leave the messages on the server.
Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Advanced - [x] Leave a copy
of messages on server

If you want to entirely quit using Windows Mail, then
stop Windows Mail from checking your email...
Tools -Accounts - youraccount - Properties - uncheck "Include this account
when receiving mail or synchronizing" - OK

If you want , send all your email back to your email address. You will have
them, but they will all be from you.

remove your email account from Windows Mail...
Tools -Accounts - youraccount - Remove - OK

quit using Windows Mail, and use your web mail.

Awesome. Thanks for your help Dave.

The settings in question are in Windows Mail, not IE.

Yes, I know. (I referred to IE as the only tools dropdown I can see). Can
you tell me where to look for the Windows tools dropdown?

Start - All Programs - Windows Mail

See the
File | Edit | View | Tools | Message | Help
at the top?

That Tools.... not the one in an opened message.
