Before I changed my mainboard I changed the IDE drivers to : "Standard
Dual-Channel PCI IDE Controller" on the harddisk with WinXP SP2.

I then changed mainboard and connected my harddisk. It starts up fine and
I get to a point where I need to reactivate winXP, but I can't use my mouse
or keyboard (it is a new keyboard and mouse).

Its not even possible to enter bios by pressing "Del" when I boot up.

Hope someon can help!

A couple of things come to mind.
1. The motherboard may have come with the PS2 keyboard disabled in favor of
a USB one. Try a USB keyboard
2. The PS2 keyboard is plugged into the mouse port.
3. Physically reset the BIOS on the motherboard using the jumper and see if
that clears things back to a PS2 keyboard, but you might lose the USB mouse
support until windows finishes loading.

I have found it advisable to reset the BIOS on new or used motherboards
prior to installing software for the first time just to make sure nothing
left over from factory testing or someone else's BIOS settings which might
conflict with other hardware.

Try booting in safe mode.
resetting bios on mb is a good idea.
you may have bad mb.

also try booting without mouse and visa versa, somtimes a bad mouse can
short out a system.
