Recently I upgraded to SP 2 and now windows won't boot properly, it gets so
far them I get the black screen with startup options?
Start up in Safe mode with networking works, the only way to boot normally
is to do a system restore that takes me back b4 SP2, any ideas?

I have downloaded/installed all device drivers, booted with nothing
external hooked up, disconnected the DSL, updated the MB bios, set the time
correctly, downloaded SP2 to a cd, etc, etc
Anybody, Anything?????

By the way I had to change my MB recently because 5 caps were leaking on the
old one. SP2 worked before the new MB. Old MB had nvidea chipset, new one
has ATI.

Thanks

When you swapped motherboards - did you do a repair install and then install
the latest ATI drivers? If you did not - that could be the problem with
installing SP2 - video card/drivers are not correct with what is on the hard
drive.

Thanks for the help Jerry.
I did a repair install and the same thing happened, so I took an old 40 G
hard drive and swapped it with my original and did a clean install then
upgraded to SP2 - no problems.. So I guess I will go and buy a bigger hard
drive and do a clean install and reinstall all my programs, etc. I can't
think of another way to fix whatever it is on my original HD? Don't know if
there is such a thing as a registery rebuild that would work.
